Directions to The History Center: Coming into Ithaca on Route 13 (from Elmira (south) or from Auburn/Syracuse (north): Take NY Route 79 East up Green Street. At the next to last traffic light through downtown, curve around to then briefly take NY 79 west on Seneca Street [one way] for two blocks and seek a parking spot on that street, or turn right at that second light (Tioga Street) to the City Seneca Parking Garage. Usually, the two or three lower floors are reserved for Hilton Garden Hotel guests, so you'll have to park further up. (Thanks, Ithaca!) There is an elevator to return to street level, and it's about a half block walk to The History Center.

From NY Route 79 heading west (from Binghamton): At the bottom of the rather steep State Street Hill, bear to the right and look for parking at the second traffic light (Tioga Street), turn right. Look for open parking spaces, no charge at meters after 6 PM. The History Center museum is to your left when exiting the Parking Garage, about a half block after crossing Seneca Street.

From other routes: Route 96 B from Owego comes down the steep hill to a traffic light, continue one more block, turning left at that second light and seek on-street parking or turn onto Tioga Street (first traffic light) seeking open parking space on that or the next block, or give up and park in the Seneca Street Garage for a fee, charged until 11 PM.
